Christian Harmon

SCOUTING REPORT

Christian Harmon is a player that you can count on in all situations. He is as reliable on and off the field as any player that I have ever coached. Christian is a player who leads by example and gravitates to the front of the pack, which he did even even when he was an underclassman on the varsity team. He never takes a rep for granted and he is always looking for ways to improve on his game. Christian is very strong in the classroom; he is a student-athlete that puts his priorities in that order. Any collegiate program that lands Christian Harmon will only be making a positive addition to their locker-room.
Christian Harmon is a very versatile player. On the mound he is polished, with smooth mechanics and great arm action. His velocity has steadily improved each season, consistently topping out last year at 87MPH, and sitting in the 83-88MPH range with his FB. He has good command of his change-up and curve-ball, giving him a very capable 3-pitch mix. His curve-ball has a sharp and late break (approximately 1-7), with an average velo of 78-80MPH. Christian is able to throw his change-up in all situations; his change-up sits around 76MPH and he is very adept at keeping it low in the zone on a consistent basis. As a RHP, Christian is very good at holding runners. He mixes looks, cadence, and moves. He is very comfortable and confident on the mound.
Defensively, Christian is able to play most anywhere in the infield. He has polished fundamentals and is very good coming in on the ball in order to make a play. His first step to either side is explosive, allowing him to cover a lot of ground. Additionally, the strength of his arm is a difference maker on many close plays at the bases.
Offensively, Christian is a multidimensional player. He possesses good plate discipline, rarely swinging at pitches outside of his hitting zone. He is able to hit to all fields and possesses good pull-side power. Christian is also effective at small-ball; a coach can feel comfortable asking Christian to sacrifice or drag bunt off of any type of pitcher. As a runner, Christian gets out of the box quickly and is a 6.9 (60 YD) runner.

My Three Greatest Strengths

My name is Christian Harmon and I am a 2021 student-athlete attending Norcross High School. I play travel baseball for Team Georgia and I am currently a Pitcher/Middle Infielder but can also be considered an athletic multi-positional player. I started playing baseball at the age of 2 and have continued to develop my skills throughout high school. I have played on the high school varsity team since I was a freshman; lettering each year. As a sophomore, I was named March 2019 Player of the Month by the Gwinnett Dugout Club for my pitching and hitting stats. In addition, as a sophomore, I was named to the All Region second team for pitching. As a Junior, I was named to the Rawlings All-American Pre- Season Underclass team. Academically, during my sophomore year, I was selected by the Norcross High School Athletic Director to attend the Georgia High School Association Student Athlete Conference and represent my school. This past year I was selected again by my Athletic Director to apply and to attend the Ideals Leadership program with the intention of developing even stronger leadership skills. I am a great teammate and do whatever I can to support my other teammates. I am very coachable and have a desire to continue learning more about the game and developing as a player. In the box, I am a solid and patient hitter. As a pitcher, I am not afraid to throw inside to a batter and attack the zone from all angles. My high baseball IQ allows me to make fast and accurate decisions in the infield as well as on the mound. I appreciate competition and have a true love and respect for the game and for my coaches. I am looking for a college that will allow me the opportunity to not only grow as a student but as a baseball player, as well. My greatest strength is my character and includes my desire to be the best I can be on and off the field as well as be a leader and cheerleader to my teammates. A college baseball coach would recruit me because I am very coachable and competitive, team oriented and open to helping the team any way I can.

Why a College Coach Should Recruit Me

I am looking for a college program that can develop me as a student and as a player.
