Jack Perdue

2022

SCOUTING REPORT

Jack Perdue is a 2022 RHP/INF from Christian Academy (Louisville, KY) He’s a well put together 175 lbs. on a 6’0” frame.

He’s a RHP with a medium frame who throws from multiple slots. Fastball has arm side life with some sink when he throws it from the high, three-quarters slot. His out pitch is a 12-6 curveball with late, downward drop. It plays well off the fastball when thrown from the same slot. Will drop slot on the curveball as well with more horizontal movement. He has a solid, running two-seam with the same late break that hovers around the 84-86 mph range. His third pitch is a still developing changeup which is effective when the arm action stays in tempo.

His secondary position is as an infielder with good versatility and a still-developing live arm. Shows ability to play all 3 positions with a smooth transfer and quick first step. Easy, confident footwork around the bag up the middle.

He’s a RH hitter with a narrow, open stance, and toe tap trigger. Uphill swing path with developing lower half drive. Jack’s focus is primarily a pull side approach, and he can create elevation with heavy backspin to pull with pop. Takes his hands to the ball and shows present and climbing bat speed.

Developed his on-field presence considerably since last evaluation. He’s very composed and controlled when faced with adversity or success.

Great student in the classroom. Great student of the game.

My Three Greatest Strengths

I will be one of your hardest workers on the field and in the classroom. I am a committed
baseball player wanting to push myself to be the best person and teammate I can be. Playing
middle infield, third base and pitcher has helped me develop a high baseball IQ. I make good
decisions and accurate throws in the field and on the mound. As a pitcher I have 4 pitches and
throw from different angles and arm slots keeping batters guessing. I like pitching in any
situation but thrive when the pressure is on. I have command of the strike zone, hit spots and
work efficiently. Offensively I’m able to hit to all sides of the field as well as hit for power. I enjoy
playing small ball and like getting runners in. I can hit anywhere in the lineup and a good two
strike hitter. I’m someone you can count on to get the job done.

Why a College Coach Should Recruit Me

I’m looking for a competitive baseball program that pushes me to the limits of my potential and recruits players who want to win and coaches to want to help get us there. I want to be on a team that promotes a positive attitude, hard work and winning results. I would like to play for a coaching staff who takes pride in their school and the players. I’ll go to school anywhere in the country to get the best education I can and play college baseball for a program I believe in.

Preferred Type of College Program

On The Field -Competitiveness -Knowledge of the game and decision making in the moment both in the field and at the plate -Ability to pitch to the situation and find the zone with a variety of pitches. -Power at the plate with quality at bats. Off The Field -Good decision maker -Friendly to all people -Trust worthy
