SCOUTING REPORT
Mark is a solid fit with everyone on the team as well as being open to coaching. He does a great job of being receptive. He is always striving to be better and learn and that is amazing to see. As for his defense, his arm strength is above average, and he continues to work on his footwork to enable a faster release point. He has the internal clock to play both 2B and 3B. At the plate he handles the bat very well. He practices what we preach with a gap - to - gap approach. He's got the tools of a power hitter while still hitting for average. He's got a good eye at the plate and excellent pitch selection. He certainly has been a very productive and positive addition to the team.

My Three Greatest Strengths
My name is Mark Lewis and I am in the Class of 2022 at Cuthbertson High School. I currently play travel baseball for Rawlings Tigers 18u in Charlotte, NC. My primary position is Second Base but also play Third Base and Outfield and have been a DH several times. The last 1-2 years I have grown physically and matured a lot which has provided a lot of self confidence and determination to succeed and has allowed me to perform very well in school and on the baseball field. Since a very young age I was sometimes physically smaller among the other students and on the baseball field but always became one of the top performers on many teams I played with and proved many coaches wrong. I have played for many coaches that played at the college and/or professional level who I would like to thank for giving me the opportunity to prove my ability. I even played recreational basketball for almost 4 years up until high school. I am a great teammate and do whatever I can to support my other teammates. I am very open to recommendations on improvement and have a desire to continue learning and developing as a player. As a hitter I am very disciplined to swing at strikes and try to be aggressive early in my at bats. I try to focus on first hitting the ball hard somewhere consistently and then focus on good ball flight. I appreciate my coaches and always show respect for my coaches. The things I believe make a team perform well, be positive and confident are coaches that are successful in keeping players relaxed, confident, aggressive, joking and having fun. I am also hoping to be part of a baseball program where players respect and support each other.
Why a College Coach Should Recruit Me
I am looking for a college program that believes that academics are equally as important as athletics. I am interested in attending a college with a highly ranked major in Exercise Science/Kinesiology, Pre-Physical Therapy or Pre-Physician Assistant and have a strong interest in playing baseball. I am looking to be part of a program where the coaching staff is successful in keeping players relaxed and confident. I am also hoping to be part of a baseball program where players respect and support each other and there is player development and a goal to win consistently.
Preferred Type of College Program
Coachable and always open to suggestion for improvement, Determined, Confidence, Successful in building friendships when joining new teams and getting along with teammates
