SCOUTING REPORT
Zachery Broderick is a 2022 LHP/1B player with a 6’1” 210lb strong, thick durable athletic frame from Fairfield CT. Zach looks to be at home on the mound with smooth mechanics and great arm action. Zach carries a quick left arm from a ¾ arm slot delivery with a four-seam fastball that shows heavy, late sinking life. Zach maintains a curveball which provides a consistent sweeping action with a late break which makes it tough for hitters to track and barrel-up. Zach also integrated a change-up that works off his FB slot and provides late tumble. Zach’s arsenal of pitches provide him with a nice 3 pitch mixture. As an LHP, Zach is very adept at holding runners. Zach provides runners with different looks, cadences and deliveries to the plate keeping baserunners very uncomfortable. Zach is a big game pitcher and is always willing to take the ball in difficult situations and willing to put the game on his shoulders.
At first base, Zach is very athletic with quick feet that allow him to move well. Zach maintains a strong arm to go with his great glove work around the bag. Zach’s ability to work low provides good flow starting the double play. His strong baseball IQ provides ability to control infield ensuring proper positioning of his teammates. While at the plate, Zach hits from the right side with a wide slightly opened stance. He possesses good plate discipline with short, quick swing with power (EV 99) to all parts of the field. Zach maintains a flat position through the zone but finishes high which creates plenty of lift and loft.
Zach not only carries himself well on the field but also excels in the classroom and is looking to carry that approach to the next level. Zach is always willing to give back as a teammate and not forget where he came from by lending a helping hand with the younger players so they can reach their potential.

My Three Greatest Strengths
A college coach should recruit me because I am a dedicated, hardworking individual with a strong work ethic who not only puts in time on the field and the gym but the classroom as well. I am a very coachable individual who is looking to become the best I can be as a young man, player and teammate. I am one who does not shy away from pressure and always willing to step up and take on a leadership role to help my teammates become the best they can be so we achieve team success. With my skillset, work ethic, competitive edge and desire to be the best player and teammate I can are qualities that I believe would benefit a collegiate program.
Why a College Coach Should Recruit Me
A college coach should recruit me for the ways I can contribute on the field by getting outs as well as helping in any way I can without asking. I take pride in the fact that I’m a very coachable player that has the want to be better overall. I thrive on the pressure I’m given and
