Jay Beshears

SS-RHP

SCOUTING REPORT

Beshears, 2020 SS/RHP began his showcase by showing a clean arm action up the middle, listed primary shortstop, and continued to show such on the mound by topping 87 mph. Beshears has an athletic frame and effortless throwing motion from the high 3/4 arm slot. He throws a solid curveball with the shape and break of a slurve that runs from 68-70.

It's his righthanded swing that may be his loudest tool however as he stays short and simple to the ball and managed to get the barrel to it more often than not with carry and backspin coming off.  He uses a toe-tap trigger in the box to help with timing and generates a steady line drive contact approach in addition to showing an excellent feel for the barrel through the zone.

He sports a projectable frame and worked his pull side with comfort showing carry and back spin coming off.

High Academic performer and is a highly ranked player in the state of Florida.
